Tokyo Systec’s submission “Sanchome no Yuhi” (“Sunset on Third Street”),
which won the Chairman’s Award at the recent Neon Art Exhibit, will
be put on display in Tokyo Tower.
Tokyo Systec brought the display idea to Tokyo Tower administrators, who accepted
the offer. The interior of the four-story tower building is undergoing renovations
to mark the 50th anniversary of its completion, and the display is to be installed
as a decoration piece for the third floor “Tokyo Tower Gallery 333” (tentative
name).
We hope that the display improves the image people have of neon and also serves
to make more people aware of the All Japan Neon-Sign Association.
The piece was first donated by Tokyo Systec to the All Japan Neon-Sign Association,
which in turn has donated it to Tokyo Tower.
It is scheduled to be unveiled in early August.
